Hotel Sacher Wien was built in 1876 at the very heart of Wien by Eduard Sacher, a son of the creator of Sacher cake, which is famous in Austria and well beyond its borders. For more than 130 years the owners of the hotel are carefully keeping traditions and put a lot of efforts into preserving matchless appeal of the Old World. Vicinity to the Wien Opera , St Stephen Cathedral and Hofburgh imperial palace, combined with Viennese charm and luxury of the interiors, transfer the hotel visitors into atmosphere of Habsburg imperial style.
All rooms are furnished with taste and comfort, decorated with antiquaries and art pieces that come from a private collection of the owners, as well as with ceiling drawings, carpets and silken wallpapers.
The hotel has two gastronomical restaurants. In the restaurant Rote bar, in addition to culinary delicacies you can enjoy piano music and splendid views of Wien that open up from the terrace. The restaurant Anna Sacher has been kept in classical traditions which are combined with the newest culinary tendencies. In the famous Sacher cafeteria you can try unique Original Sacher-Torte, the recipe of which is kept in great secrecy up till now.
